Who is qualified to become a resident of John Knox Village?
John Knox Village welcomes applications from those persons who have reached age 62, who are in reasonably good health, of good moral character, have the financial means and who desire a homelike retirement atmosphere.
In fairness to all concerned, it is not proper for us to knowingly accept as new residents those persons who, in our best judgement, need services and/or care that we are not prepared to provide for them. To help minimize the possibility of misunderstanding and disappointment, our policy regarding health requirements is summarized here:
John Knox Village is a residence for active persons of retirement age who are in reasonably good physical and mental health, able to live independently and attend to all personal needs in their residential unit without assistance.
If, after the medical form is completed as part of your application, but before you occupy your unit, there is any applicable change in your physical or mental health, our Medical and Admissions Committees reserve the option to reconsider the application in light of such changes in your condition.
