Welcome to John Knox Village, a beautiful 40-acre retirement community in Weslaco, Texas and the only Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) south of San Antonio. Located at the southern tip of Texas in the Rio Grande Valley, John Knox Village provides beautiful homes, first-class services and amenities, daily activities, and a full continuum of care (Independent Living, Assisted Living and Nursing Care) at no additional cost.

John Knox Village is a Continuing Care Retirement Community that offers Independent Living, Assisted Living, and a 60-bed Health Care Center for temporary or permanent care. As part of your carefree lifestyle here at John Knox Village, we take care of the chores, the cooking and even help maintain your health! We offer a variety of services and amenities*, including:
John Knox Village welcomes applications from those persons who have reached age 62, who are in reasonably good health, of good moral character, have the financial means and who desire a homelike retirement atmosphere.
In fairness to all concerned, it is not proper for us to knowingly accept as new residents those persons who, in our best judgement, need services and/or care that we are not prepared to provide for them. To help minimize the possibility of misunderstanding and disappointment, our policy regarding health requirements is summarized here:
John Knox Village is a residence for active persons of retirement age who are in reasonably good physical and mental health, able to live independently, and attend to all personal needs in their residential unit without assistance.
If, after the medical form is completed as part of your application, but before you occupy your unit, there is any applicable change in your physical or mental health, our Medical and Admissions Committees reserve the option to reconsider the application in light of such changes in your condition.
If our concept of retirement living is something you would like, we cordially invite you to come and tour our facilities. When a suitable unit is available, and you agree to accept it, we will furnish the application forms which are as follows:
Application – Primarily personal and financial information, including some questions for you to answer regarding your general health (This information is strictly confidential)
Medical Form – To be completed by your physician and mailed by him/her directly to John Knox Village. This information should represent your condition not more than 30 days prior to submitting the application to us.
Occupancy Agreement – You will be given a copy of the Occupancy Agreement in advance for your review. At the time of signing your application, the official Occupancy Agreement will be completed, signed, and dated.
Deposit – A completed application should include a deposit in the amount of 10% of the entrance fee. If the application is not approved, the deposit will be refunded in full. The balance of the entrance fee is due and payable on or before the agreed on the move-in date.
Completed applications are usually processed within one week of receiving them. We will advise you immediately of the action of our Admissions Committee.
John Knox Village features a variety of 1 and 2 bedroom apartments available at our main building. They offer the same convenient services as our cottages and villas, plus meal services.
If you’re looking to live in an attractive home with landscaping, then our cottages are perfect for you. With both 1 and 2 bedroom floor plans, it’s easy to find the right home for your retirement lifestyle.
The spacious villas at John Knox Village are available with 2 or 3 bedrooms and include a one or two car garage . Several floor plans are available.
The Town Homes at John Knox Village consist of 2 bedroom/2 bath homes with an office/study. These units are easily accessible to the main building and all have a one-car garage and one meal per day.
